Garstang
Garstang is a traditional market town with a long history and a strong connection to the surrounding countryside. Known as the world’s first Fairtrade Town, its weekly market remains a key part of town life, while the centre is filled with independent shops, cafés and tearooms that make it a popular stop. Nearby Flower Bowl at Barton Grange offers a modern addition with dining, entertainment and leisure all in one place.
The landscape around Garstang lends itself well to walking and cycling, with routes linking the town to both Morecambe Bay and the Forest of Bowland. The Wyre Way passes through here, following the river, while the nearby Lancaster Canal provides a quieter setting for towpath walks and boat trips.
