Fundraising festive market at The Parkers Arms

Stosie and Kathy are over the moon that their award winning restaurant Weezos in Clitheroe makes it into the good food guide 2009 and their country Inn The Parkers Arms in Newton in Bowland gets highest Accreditation from The Lancashire and Blackpool Tourist Board with 96% for food and Provenance which makes their establishments Synonymous with good food and local produce.

This Christmas the two are teaming up again at The Parkers Arms for the annual festive fundraising market bursting with locally produced fare, tastings and this year raffle prizes from members of the prestigious Ribble Valley Food trail and local businesses such as Cowman's sausages Cocomoyo award winning Chocolates, Wellgate Fisheries, Bowland Breweries, Mrs. Dowson's Ice creams, Cheesie Tchaikovsky, Taste of Clitheroe, Johnson and Swarbrick, Shackleton's Lifestyle, exchange coffee shop and last but not least Dawson's department store.

To top it all we have got celebrity Lancashire Life Food Editor Philippa James on site with her award winning cakes as well as helping organise the raffle. An idyllic festive setting with roaring log fires, Father Christmas on hand, extensive lawns for the children to rampage and mulled wine galore for parents with carols in the background.

The funds raised will be shared equally between two local charities, the Slaidburn and Newton over 60's Christmas Dinner and The Northwest Air Ambulance, so not only an all round un missable fun packed event for all the family but a feel good one too.
