Two and a half years after opening, the owners of the fat giraffe in Padiham have decided to concentrate on the fat giraffe evening eaterie and close the fat giraffe coffee shop.

After building a new seating area to take the dining capacity from 24 up to 32 the fat giraffe evening eaterie opened with a new menu on Wednesday 24 October.
Jo Royle, partner in the fat giraffe says "Although it wasn't an easy decision to close the fat giraffe coffee shop, we felt it was the right time to refocus the business and to remove the conflict that sometimes exists between running a daytime and evening business from the same premises. Both the fat giraffe coffee shop and evening eaterie have been busier than we imagined and we have taken the decision in order to simplify our operations. We have enjoyed running the fat giraffe coffee shop and are grateful to all our staff and customers who helped to make it so successful. We hope our customers continue to be customers... of the fat giraffe evening eaterie."
the fat giraffe evening eaterie continues to be open Wednesday to Saturday evenings, with an earlier opening time of 6pm. The new menu features some fat giraffe favourites such as crispy skinned lemon and thyme chicken; new dishes such as twice baked sheep's cheese and sundried tomato soufflé with spicy salsa and twists on previous favourites including mushroom, spinach and chestnut shortcrust pie.
