Food and Drink > Tasty Events > Lancashire Hot Shots > Ye Horns Inn, featured chef James Cowell
The fifth of our featured chefs is James Cowell. At only 18 years of age James is the youngest of our chefs and has worked his way up through the ranks at Ye Horns Inn in the five years he has worked there.
A local lad from Goosnagh, James has just completed his NVQ Level 3 at Blackburn College where he won the award for most outstanding apprentice in both years of study. He is currently studying for his HNC Hospitality Management.
James lives on a dairy farm and despite holding down a college course and a job can regularly be found getting up at 5am to milk the cows which probably explains why his favourite dish is roast beef and Yorkshire pudding. Says James, 'When done perfectly it is a dish which never disappoints, making it a timeless classic.'
Outside of work James loves to cycle, swim and walk, and has completed his bronze, silver and gold Duke of Edinburgh Awards. He also plays an active role in his local parish church.
James will be cooking his special menu on Friday 16th November at Ye Horns Inn. Bookings are now being taken on 01772 865230.
