August bank holiday is just around the corner and there's lots to do and see in Lancashire, including a range of exciting events which will be taking place all over the county.

1. Amazing Accrington Soapbox Challenge (FREE to spectate)

The much-loved #AmazingAccrington Soapbox Challenge will be returning this bank holiday weekend and thousands of people are expected to line the streets of Accrington once again as local people and businesses go head-to-head to be crowned Soapbox champion.
2. Lowther's Food & Drink Festival (FREE)

You're invited to join the bank holiday fun at the Lowther's Food and drink festival where you can expect a weekend of food, drink, and free entertainment in the historic, Edwardian gardens.
3. Burnley Canal Festival (FREE)

Visit the beautifully refurbished Finsley Gate Wharf for the free family friendly Burnley Canal Festival. You can expect lots of creative activities, live music, delicious street food and plenty to do.
4. World Gravy Wrestling Championships
The Rose 'N' Bowl
26th August
As one of the world's craziest culinary competitions, the World Gravy Wrestling Championship is always popular with visitors. The wild and whacky wrestling competition takes place in a pool full of Lancashire Gravy, as contestants wrestle to become champion and raise money for charity.
5. Great Eccleston Tractor Pulling Championships
Great Eccleston Showground
23rd – 25th August
The Northwest Tractor Pulling Club are proud to be hosting the European championships this bank holiday. Head down to The Great Eccleston Show Ground to see the best of the best compete for the European championship.
6. The Great British Rhythm & Blues Festival
Various locations across Colne
23rd – 25th August
The Great British Rhythm & Blues festival is back again this summer with three incredible days of live music across three fantastic venues in Colne. You can expect the very best of blues music in the UK right now, as well as the most exciting emerging talent both locally and around the UK.
7. Spanish Fiesta at Samlesbury Hall
The Garden Room Eatery, Samlesbury Hall
25th August
Samlesbury Hall are opening their doors this bank holiday for a special Spanish night where you can expect Sangria, Tapas, and live music in the beautiful surroundings of The Garden Room eatery.
8. Affinity Lancashire's Summer of Fun! - FREE

24th – 26th August
There's plenty of free fun planned at Affinity Lancashire this bank holiday weekend including a Stitch Meet & Greet, Salsa dancers, a steel drum band and much more. Even better, it's all completely free!
9. The Dukes Play in the Park: Alice in Wonderland
