Born in Whalley, Lancashire, Nigel Haworth’s passion for his home county and local food roots is tangible in every aspect of his cooking.
Having initially trained in Lancashire, Nigel eventually went onto embark on a culinary journey which covered London, Scotland and Switzerland, before returning home to take over as Head Chef at Northcote Manor in 1984.
For almost forty years, Nigel was the driving culinary force behind Northcote, working alongside co-founder Craig Bancroft to transform the small village of Langho into a place of gastronomic pilgrimage, earning a Michelin star in 1996.
Over the past four decades, Nigel has helped define the path of modern British cooking through his relentless championing of regional produce and traditional dishes, having inspired countless others to follow his model.
Today, Nigel is still writing new chapters in his incredible story, with the opening of his much-loved pub and restaurant The Three Fishes in Mitton, Lancashire, as well as sharing his extraordinary skills and knowledge through partnerships with global brands and businesses reliant on the expertise of the NH Brand to ensure similar success.
Alongside his restaurant work, Nigel has also become a popular presence on TV, having appeared on shows such as BBC’s MasterChef, The Great British Menu and Saturday Kitchen.
