Food and Drink / Food & Drink News / Nigel Haworth wins the 'War of the Roses'
Congratulations to Nigel Haworth who won the judges over last week and will go through to the finals of BBC's Great British Menu
Nigel beat off his Yorkshire competitor Anthony Quinn from cutting edge Leeds eaterie Anthony's.
Nigel, of Northcote Manor, will join the six other winners from the regional heats who will then cook their entire menus for The Great British Menu judges (Matthew Fort, Prue Leith and Oliver Peyton) in the national finals.
This is when the great British public will get the chance to vote for their favourite dishes and decide which chefs go forward to the Gherkin and glory.
Nigel Haworth's winning menu:
Warm hot pot salad, sweetbreads, pickled red cabbage
Line-caught Whitby cod, trotters, tripe, broad beans and peas
British white beef, smoked marrowbone, baby cauliflower and watercress purée
Curd tart with rose petal cream and redcurrants
