Conservation Cookbook launched

A new cookbook which aims to increase understanding about the connections between the food on our plate, buying local produce, enjoying eating healthily and the conservation of the environment, was launched earlier this month.

The Landscape Cookbook, produced by the Bittern Countryside Community Interest Group (CIC), particularly focuses on the Arnside/Silverdale Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the issues around "conservation grazing" which involves the reintroduction of traditional grazing and hay cutting and avoiding the input of chemicals or fertilizers.

The cookbook is available from the AONB Office at the Old Station, Arnside, Lancashire LA5 0HG, priced £7.95 including a CD Rom with extra recipes. The office is open Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm or send orders by post, adding £1 for postage and packing.
