Seniors is the 3rd Best Chippy in the UK

Seniors Chip Shop in Thorton, has been awarded with the title of 'the thrird best in the UK' at the National Fish and Chip shop of the year awards.

The awards ceremony took place in London, where Seniors owner, Alistair Horabin, recieved the award from celebrity chef Ainsley Harriott.

The shop, in Marsh Mill, was only opened last year by the 22 -year- old, so has done extremely well to win this award.

Townhead Cafe in the Scottish borders took first place, with Andy's Fish Bar in Derbyshire taking second place.

Mr Horabin said: "Coming third is a huge honour but we'll be aiming to go even higher one day."

"My team and I have worked so hard to keep the standards of the shop as high as possible, and we are constantly trying new ideas to keep our offering fresh and exciting."
