This sweet company was first established in Accrington as a manufacturer of quality sweets in 1918. The passing of years has not altered the unique flavour of the time-honoured recipes still used in present day production. Visitors of Oswaldtwistle Mills are invited to step into the reconstructed Victorian factory yard, complete with authentic memorabilia to watch a variety of sweets and toffees being made. Coltsfoot Rock is not a seaside souvenir. It's a sugary stick that tastes of aniseed and it has been a key seller for Stockley's Sweets for nearly a hundred years. Try it, along with cinder toffee and maybe a bag of pear drops, a trip down memory lane for anyone old enough to remember when dentists used gas.
