Pendle Witches Brew up a Feast

Fence Gate innPendle is one of the best places to indulge yourself in Lancashire and was the first Fairtrade borough in the world.

Pendle has dining experiences ranging from the exotic, like the "Massala Room", near Foulridge, to high class award-winning restaurants in idyllic rural settings, like the Fence Gate Inn in Fence.

Ice CreamUsing some of the tastiest locally-farmed produce, Pendle is also proud of its other local products - world-beating Farmhouse Biscuits, Pendle pie, and great beers with striking local names from Moorhouses. Other famous local institutions are Slaters Ice Cream and Oddies Bakers.

Pendle Witch BrewThe Pendle Inn in Barley - overlooked by the infamous Pendle Hill - stocks the famous "Pendle Witches Brew" beer and is described as "a great pub" in the Forest of Bowland.

BiscuitPendle also caters for those prefer a more cosmopolitan feel to the dining experience in Colne's "Restaurant Quarter", where you have a choice of many different types of cuisine.

Many of our pubs and restaurants use some of the tastiest locally-farmed produce, and Pendle is also proud of its other local products, like world-beating biscuits, a special pie, and great beers. Purveyors of biscuits to Harrod's no less, the baking smells that surround Farmhouse Biscuits, are worth the visit alone, even without a trip to its Factory Shop.

Not content with brewing and baking, one of the country's finest chefs, Paul Heathcote, designed the sumptuous Pendle Pie. Why not wash this down with a Pendle Thrill? Recipes for both are to be found in The Colne Cookbook - call 01282 661701 for stockists.
