Egg Rolling is a big Easter tradition, going back over 150 years, that takes place in Preston every Easter Monday.
Every Easter brings a different programme of events, including a traditional Easter bonnet making workshop and competition.
However you spend your day, no visit to Preston's Egg rolling is complete without bringing your own Easter egg and rolling it down the hill with hundreds of other people. You can find a quiet spot and roll with the family or join in with the official egg rolls on the hour.
It may sound wacky but that's because it is.
With each year differing from the next, you never know what to expect. You are, however, guaranteed a great Easter Monday out.

Avenham and Miller Parks are located in the heart of the city centre, less than five minutes walk from the railway station and only ten minutes from the bus station. A 40-space car park is available at the end of South Meadow Lane (opposite the Continental pub), just 30 metres away from the entrance to Miller Park. Alternatively, follow the signs to the Avenham Car Park in the city centre, from there it's a short walk to the park. Use postcode PR1 3XA. Alternative parking is available at the Fishergate Shopping Centre and the bus station car park.
Exit the railway station and turn right onto Fishergate. Walk into the city, past the Fishergate Shopping Centre until you reach Chapel Street on your right. Turn down Chapel Street and walk along the western side of Winckley Square (a lovely Georgian feature of the city). The Ribblesdale Place entrance to the park is about 50m further on, and takes you onto Avenham Park.
