Lancashire is well served by rivers and canals. Canals meanders through beautiful countryside and some of the most spectacular locks and tunnels in Britain. If you want something more adventurous try diving, canoeing or powerboats.
Lancaster Canal

Leeds and Liverpool Canal
This is the longest canal in Britain built as a single waterway - yet one of the least busy. It meanders across rural Lancashire through a succession of swing bridges and staircase locks, including the award winning Greenberfield Locks. In West Lancashire the canal travels through picturesque villages such as Newburgh and Parbold.
