Rubbish Shakespeare

Runaways. Fairies. Goblins.  Water Pistols!?!   Look out, it’s Rubbish Shakespeare.

Athens. The past. Four idiots enter wearing bed sheets for togas.  With rubbish props, silly wigs and a ladder, they attempt to perform A Midsummer Night’s Dream in an hour. And fail. Miserably. With hilarious results.

Described as ‘like Horrible Histories but funnier’ (Primary Times), this dream is an anarchic, slapstick, all-ages comedy that promises belly laughs for the whole family.  Expect bubble guns, mop heads, chair legs, cardboard cutout cast members, lightsabers and a frankly pitiful attempt at ‘magic'.

Perfect as an introduction to Shakespeare or for any Shakespeare enthusiast.  They’ll make a mess of this dream, even if it bruises them.

'I’m a firm believer that when you take the kids to see a show, you can tell if it’s good or not purely by watching their expressions.  These performers had their young audience eating out of the palms of their hands’ Number 9
