Lisa Goodwin-Allen is Executive Head Chef at Northcote, having taken the reins in October 2017 when Nigel Haworth stepped backed to take an ambassadorial role.
Born in Lancashire, trained at Lancaster & Morecambe College, she joined Northcote aged 20 and at just 23 Lisa was named Executive Chef, one of the youngest chefs to take on the role in a Michelin starred kitchen at the time.
Since then she has helped maintain the restaurant’s Michelin Star which it has held for over 20 years. Lisa is passionate about using seasonal and locally sourced ingredients to incorporate her Lancashire roots in her creative dishes.
In 2010, Lisa’s talents shone brightly when she won the hearts of many with her appearance on BBC Two’s popular Great British Menu. She won the opportunity to cook her starter of Wild Rabbit & Leek Turnover with Piccalilli for HRH Prince Charles at a banquet in celebration of the National Trust. Lisa returned to the show as a guest judge in 2016, she has also appeared as a chef mentor and judge on Masterchef:The Professionals and on the BBC’s Saturday Kitchen.
Each year Lisa is part of Northcote’s gastronomic event, Obsession, leading the kitchen brigade to cook alongside some of the world’s best chefs.
In 2019 Lisa was named a Taste Lancashire Ambassador, in recognition of her culinary excellence and support of the county's Taste Lancashire activities, that champion Lancashire food and drink nationally and internationally.
