Get stuck into your half term with a mud obstacle course, mud kitchen, wild crafts and mud, mud more. Also returning is the annual North West Puddle Jumping Championships.
With hands-on activities for all ages and abilities, everyone can connect with nature and discover the magical powers of mud for wildlife and play. After all, it’s the stuff wetlands and great family adventures are made of.

Can you jump between obstacles or climb your way through the mud-tastic obstacle course?
Take a seat in the Lecture Theatre for an exciting Mud Show. Collect your free ticket from the welcome desk.
Visit the craft room for some clay modelling, creating a worm, and making seed bombs.
Cook up some delicious muddy meals in the mud kitchen.
See what sculptures you can make out of mud. Can you make an otter, or maybe a mallard?
North West Puddle Jumping Championships. Do you think you've got what it takes to make the biggest and best splash? Back again and on the search for this year's champions each day of the February half term as part of the new Mudfest event. Enter the daily competitions and be in with the chance of winning one of the prizes. Only 50p per entry. You will be judged on splash height and creativity, so get practising your twirls and star jumps.

Follow A59 towards Preston. Through Burscough Village turn left immediately after the railway bridge onto Red Cat Lane. Follow for one mile, Martin Mere is on left.
Nearest railway station is Burscough Bridge station. Martin Mere is 1.5 miles from station. Signposted walk, approximately 30 mins, or can get taxi from Burscough Village. Cyclists are always welcome at Martin Mere.
The centre is signposted from Junction 8, M61, Junction 3 on M58 and Junction 27 on M6.
