The village of Slyne offers a truly historical experiences for all those interested. The village features several beautiful houses, such as Manor House Farm, which has a date stone of 1681, dedicated to Cornelius and Mary Greene, two wealthy landowners from the 18th and 19th Centuries. In addition to this, there is the Old Malt House, dating back to 1860 and Little Grange, which dates back to at least 1575. The village features a picturesque pond, at which, the village stocks can still be found. The historic village also features the Slyne Grange building, which was owned by William Sparling, the man tried and acquitted for the murder of Edward Grayson in a duel at Lancaster Assizes in 1804.
