Nestled in the heart of Gisburn, on the edge of the Ribble Valley, La Locanda is the UK’s most awarded Italian restaurant outside London. Highly regarded for its dedication to serving rustic, handcrafted dishes of authentic flavours which respect the traditions of Italian cuisine, culture and heritage.
Maurizio Bocchi is Chef & Proprietor and one of Taste Lancashire Chef Ambassadors along with his wife Cinzia. La Locanda first opened its doors in 2003 and its menu endeavours to take customers to the heart of Italian cuisine, serving authentic recipes that go back generations.
Sourcing the best quality local produce has always been and remains a true passion for Maurizio. Working closely with wonderful local producers and native Italian suppliers, carefully selecting ingredients that have been locally grown, reared and produced only to the highest standards.
La Locanda are very proud of, and an annual recipient of The Ospitalita’ Italiana Award since 2010. A certification that highlights the best Italian restaurants around the world, to protect Italian cuisine and preserve its history, culture, quality and authenticity.
The have also won the Taste Lancashire award in years 2009, 2015 & 2016; the award for outstanding contribution in 2021 and Bronze in the national Visit England Awards for Excellence, Taste of England category 2016 and 2024.
