Nestled in the heart of Gisburn, on the edge of the Ribble Valley, La Locanda is the UK’s most awarded Italian restaurant outside London.
Maurizio proudly wears the title Agri-Chef and has a vast knowledge of agriculture as well as a natural flair for gastronomy. Maurizio and his wife Cinzia’s devotion to genuine Italian hospitality led them to open La Locanda in 2003, with the aim of representing Italian cuisine in its original form, sourcing most of their ingredients from their immediate community in Lancashire.
La Locanda delivers a truly authentic experience and, is one of only 27 UK Italian restaurants, to be awarded the Ospitalità Italiana certificate for their passionate adherence to Italian food culture and heritage. Also, avid proponents of the Slow Food movement and its ethos of good, clean and fair food for all.
La Locanda has won the Taste Lancashire award for two successive years 2015 & 2016 and Bronze in the national Visit England Awards for Excellence, Taste of England category 2016.
