Discover Astley Hall, one of Lancashire’s most romantic wedding venues.
Astley Hall is a museum and art gallery housed within a Grade I listed historic house and its unique atmosphere provides one of the most romantic settings in Lancashire for your wedding ceremony. The Hall is set within the beautiful surroundings of Astley Park in Chorley which include historic woodland, a lake, spectacular fountain, a fully renovated Victorian walled garden alongside clean and modern facilities, making it the ideal venue and setting for your special day.
Astley Hall has a choice of two rooms for your wedding; the majestic Great Hall with its remarkable plaster ceilings and sweeping staircase, or the more homely panelled Dining Room with its view over the lake. Both of these rooms are fully wheelchair accessible.
The Great Hall
The Great Hall is licensed to hold a maximum of 70 guests, including two registrars and the bride and groom. The magnificent ceilings reflect the exuberant period, which it is associated with the Restoration Monarchy. It is one of the very few left in existence and is made of wood, leather and plaster. The staircase, like the ceiling above, is carved with cherubs, fruits, rosettes and leaves and probably dates back to the same time.
The Dining Room
The Dining Room is licensed to hold a maximum of 55 guests including two registrars and the bride and groom. The decoration and furnishings are mainly 19th century, apart from the 17th century dining table. There is a marble fireplace and elaborate chimney breast panelling inlaid with floral patterns. The wooden panelling creates a warm atmosphere, contrasting with the views of the lake visible through the large windows.
The interior of Astley Hall and the grounds outside can be used to produce memorable photographs or a video of your special day. Wedding cars can be driven to the front of the Hall via the main gates from Park Road. There is also the option of having a marquee in the walled garden and holding your celebration in the Coach House, which is adjacent to Astley Hall.
The Confernce Room
The Conference Room in Astley Coach House is licensed to hold a maximum of 60 guests including two registrars and the happy couple. The room is Georgian and sits beautifully at the top of Astley Coach House, which is a Grade II listed building full of character and charm, dating back to the 18th Century. The Conference Room gives magnificent views across Astley Park, the Courtyard and the Walled Garden. It maintains many of its original features including its huge oak beams and rustic brick walls and just outside the room is a magnificent glass atrium and spiral staircase, perfect for guests to gather and take photos.
