Haworth Art Gallery and Museum is best known for its collection of Tiffany art glass. The collection of American glass was gifted by Accrington born Joseph Briggs, who after training as an engraver, emigrated to New York. He started work as an errand boy but ended up as managing director of the world famous glass company.
Once known as Hollins Hill, Haworth Art Gallery is Lancashire’s finest house and garden designed in the Arts & Crafts style. Built for brother and sister, William and Anne Haworth, and left to be used as an art gallery, museum and public park for the people of Accrington. Every inch of the building is teaming with beautiful details, inspired by nature and made with a love of materials and craftsmanship.
The historic stables and motor house have been reimagined as Artists’ Studios. The studios are home to a range of skilled craftspeople working and selling their wares onsite.
Set in nine acres of parkland, visitors can find respite in the rose garden, let off steam in the sweeping lawns or explore the woodland areas. For an authentic dining experience, the licensed Gallery Kitchen is situated in the Haworth’s original Arts & Crafts dining room.

Take the first right onto Hollins Lane and Haworth Art Gallery is on the right. From M65 Junction 7, take the exit for Accrington, follow Dunkenhalgh Way to the traffic lights go straight through the lights to Hyndburn Road. Follow the road to the viaduct roundabout and take the fourth exit onto Eastgate. Follow Eastgate through to Manchester Road A680. Travel for 1.3 miles. Turn right onto Newton Drive. Take the first right onto Hollins Lane and Haworth Art Gallery is on the right.
