The Nab Lab Whalley

Set in the heart of the Ribble Valley, The Nab Lab is a family run, gin distilling lab in Whalley.  Offering a variety of fun filled, bespoke gin making experiences in a gorgeous village setting.

The signature gin making experiences at the gin school are the perfect gift, treat, date night and would be a splendid way to celebrate any special occasion.  You’ll spend your time creating your personal botanical recipe, distilling your gin and drinking a selection of The Nab Lab and other local gins and leave with your very own bespoke 70cl bottle of gin.  The Nab Lab provides a fun and enjoyable adventure for all.  You can book 1 to 11 people on any sitting.

A two hour gin making experience at the Nab Lab.
Immerse yourself in the art of crafting gin as you explore rich aromas of botanicals and the gleam of our copper stills.
Whilst creating your own unique 700ml bottle of gin, to take home and enjoy, you will enjoy two glasses of our very own 'Spirit of the Nab' gins and one of the favourite local gins.

The venue is set in the heart of the village, so it’s perfect for any event and you can visit the locals bars and restaurants before and after your experience to continue you day/evening.  The venue is available for private events and corporate hire.

It all started in adversity.
The Nab Lab was always a pipe dream, until Brooke was diagnosed with breast cancer, at the age of 42, in August 2023, and whilst sat at a Ribble Valley breast cancer group one evening in November 2023, listening to a lady talk to us about her jewellery making company, she thought to herself, she could make her dream a reality if she really wanted to and knowing she had time off for treatment, what better time to start?

Brooke wanted to make something positive, out of a terribly tough and sad situation and the gin school was her focus whilst she was stuck in hospital or at home in bed recovering from the numerous treatments and surgeries.  It gave Brooke real purpose.

Brooke's life had been literally turned upside down and as a busy working mum, her priorities had started to change and she really wanted to do something for her, she realised how short and fragile life is and that you aren’t immortal, so through her chemo, she cracked on with the planning side of the business, wrote a business plan, ordered a mini distiller, which was kept in the utility room and made lots of gin and this started the ball rolling with the planning stage, as soon as the chemo had finished, and whilst recovering from eight major surgeries, Brooke started the planning and license applications and also designed a logo, branding and the interior of the gin school, and through this time The Nab Lab was born and built.  Brooke is super proud of what she has set up and can’t wait to see The Nab Lab and her gin - spirit of The Nab grow.
