Decade Adidas Spezial

Gary Aspden designed the popular Adidas Spezial range ten years ago and now his hometown of Darwen is set to host an international Adidas exhibition to celebrate.

The free exhibition includes:

Limited edition Blackburn SPZL (DECADE pack) X Nightsafe shoe launch.
10th anniversary Decade book launch.
Education programme for schools and colleges, including talks and film screenings.
Featuring the complete Adidas SPZL footwear archive and highlights from the 10 years of apparel collections.
This retrospective exhibition will showcase vintage design references, unseen samples, technical drawings, signed footwear and a large selection of rare Adidas SPZL artefacts.
The exhibition will be a celebration of adidas SPZL’s 10th anniversary.

The exhibition will runover the same weekend as Darwen Live, the largest free music festival in the whole of the UK.

Admission to the exhibition is free, but donations to Nightsafe are encouraged

Road Directions

From M65 follow signs to Darwen and then A666 to Darwen town centre. Access via the A666 from Bolton/Blackburn or from junction 4 of the M65 motorway. Satellite Navigation users should use postcode BB3 1BH.

Public Transport Directions

Direct buses run from Blackburn and Bolton.  Most buses stop on outside the market square in the centre of town. Bus no.1 from Blackburn or Bolton. ​​​​Direct trains run from Blackburn, Clitheroe, Bolton and Manchester railway stations.
