Once again, we are hosting the most iconic steam locomotive, with the return of The Flying Scotsman. This legendary locomotive will be the star attraction to celebrate steam’s golden age.
The Flying Scotsman famously became the first locomotive to travel at 100 miles per hour, and will be in operation between 29 August and 5 September at the East Lancashire Railway.
Tickets and seats must be booked in advance, and are valid for one time return journey between Bury and Rawtenstall on the train specified.
FLYING SCOTSMAN FAQS
I have already booked to travel on Flying Scotsman at Easter. How do I transfer?
Existing ticketholders, originally booked on the Flying Scotsman for Easter 2021 have already been contacted directly and offered a priority transfer to the new dates (29-30th August and 3rd-5th September). If you have any queries about an existing booking call 0333 320 2830.
Will my Flying Scotsman ticket be valid on other East Lancs Railway services?
With the continued uncertainty around social distancing, and the restrictions that may be in place, Flying Scotsman hauled services are the only trains planned for the dates specified on these dates. This may change if restrictions are lifted. Updates will be provided on the website.
What about social distancing?
Seats are currently allocated with social distancing in place. This means that some seats will not be available. If you need more seats for your party please call us on 0333 320 2830 and our agents will be more than happy to help you.
