The Royal Hotel Bar and Brasserie

Occupying one side of a bustling market square, the Royal is at the heart of town and its well-stocked bar is at the heart of the hotel. Secure a comfy armchair by the windows, order a coffee, grab the ‘papers and it’s a delightful spot for watching the comings and goings at the heart of this traditional farming community.

Food is served at lunchtimes until 2.30pm and in the evenings from 6pm to 9.30pm and the menu offers something for everyone: from artisan pizzas and tapas-style nibbles to a three-course Sunday roast.

Served daily between 2pm and 5pm, Afternoon Tea has become something of a Royal institution while the promise of a platter and glass of Prosecco often proves too much of a temptation after a long day hiking on the hills.
