Brackenthwaite Holidays is a real hidden gem, nestled on the edge of the Lake District on the border between Lancashire and Cumbria in the Arnside and Silverdale designated National Landscape.
Set within nine-acres of its own private land with stunning views and an abundance of natural wildlife, Brackenthwaite Holidays is a perfect base to explore local landscapes including woodlands, crags, hills, and beaches. Ideally sited close to the A6 and M6, you will also find yourself within easy reach of the historic city of Lancaster, Morecambe Bay, Kendal town, Windermere and The Lake District, so no matter what type of Lancashire break you are looking for, you’ll do well with a stay at Brackenthwaite.
There are three available holiday properties onsite to choose from that will sleep up to two, four or six people or you can hire them all to sleep up to 12 people and enjoy an exclusive stay with your friends and family for that special occasion.
The Dairy (four-star gold) is an open plan apartment style property with mezzanine bedroom that sleeps up to two people in either a super king or twin bed setup. This property has breath-taking views towards Coniston Old Man and the Lake District beyond and includes some fabulous features indoors, including a glass-topped light-up well and a wonderful wood-fired stove that create the perfect environment when you’re looking for something a little more romantic.
Corner Cottage (four-star) is a two-bedroom property that is ideal for two couples or a small family of four and is located in the courtyard, adjacent to The Coach House (three-star gold), which sleeps up to six people in three bedrooms. Both properties are newly renovated, modern, and fully equipped with everything you could need. In the courtyard setting you’ll find outdoor seating for each, along with fire pits and charcoal fired barbecues to make the most of your summer evenings.
All properties are dog friendly and will accommodate up to two to three dogs, depending on size, and at your discretion. A field dedicated to doggy play is provided, so expect to find plenty of balls to play with and even a small agility course for those so inclined. The set-up for dogs is often raved about in visitor reviews, and if you like to holiday with your horse, this can even be accommodated. Paddocks and stables are on-site.
Brackenthwaite Holidays also makes a great venue for larger groups to celebrate weddings, birthdays, and other special occasions. In addition to the superb holiday properties, nine-acres of private land, and everything else already mentioned, you will have exclusive access to The Long Barn, an indoor area for gatherings and socialising that lends itself well for dining, drinking, dancing or almost anything else you could want to use it for. An on-site outdoor pizza oven, is set in the Rose Garden. Sit and socialise while taking in the beauty of the garden and the accompanying views towards the Lakeland fells.
Overall, Brackenthwaite Holidays is a first-class choice for your Lancashire destination getaway, where great memories are made and a small piece of your heart will always remain.
