Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms

Moor Hall is two Michelin star restaurant with rooms situated in Aughton, West Lancashire in five acres of breathtaking formal and growing gardens with views to the south over a beautiful lake, said to be the remains of a medieval moat. A grade II* listed gentry house of mid-sixteenth century origin and one of the most important listed buildings in the UK.

Following a multi-million pound renovation Moor Hall opened in 2017 and is now an award-winning Restaurant with luxury rooms, holding two Michelin stars and 5 AA Rosettes. It was also recently crowned 'Restaurant of the Year' at the National Restaurant Awards.

Moor Hall has fourteen unique luxurious guest bedrooms, five are located in the main hall and two are located in the gatehouse situated by the lake. Each of the bedrooms within the Hall has a wonderful view of the lake or gardens. A further seven Garden Rooms are set in the grounds of Moor Hall.

Moor Hall Restaurant with Rooms, Chef Mark Birchall’s two Michelin-starred culinary destination in Aughton, Lancashire, is set to expand its accommodation offering with the launch of seven new Garden Rooms. Now available for bookings from July 2024, each of the standalone Garden Rooms will be located in the secluded woodland that surrounds Moor Hall’s picturesque gardens.

Designed by KOTO, the new rooms celebrate biophilic living, embracing the dynamic relationship between nature, design, crafted luxury and sustainability. Each of the beautiful architecturally-designed buildings will be complete with a hot tub, and private decking area. In line with Moor Hall’s commitment to sustainable practices, which have resulted in the restaurant achieving a Michelin Green Star, the Garden Rooms have been created to comply with the highest eco-standards, as seen in features such as sustainable timber and the innovative practice of off-site prefabrication for each cabin.

Chef Mark Birchall has worked with KOTO to select seven botanicals that will become the names and inspire the different designs for each of the new rooms, thereby evoking the kitchen garden and the culinary experience throughout the guest journey.
