This multi-award-winning site with unrivalled views, on a working farm is a perfect base the explore the area.
Whether you choose to stay in a cosy shepherd’s hut (open year-round), complete with underfloor heating and en-suite bathroom, or a luxury canvas bell tent with stylish furnishings, fluffy towels and even hotel slippers, it’s attention to detail and the little touches that stand-out. With only five well-appointed units, you’ll get the feeling of exclusivity and privacy in this small, but perfectly formed site.
Make memories to last a lifetime, surrounded by panoramic views of the Ribble Valley and the Forest of Bowland (an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty), as well as majestic Pendle Hill as your backdrop. But with Langho railway station just opposite the farm entrance, you can also benefit from short and convenient rail links to Whalley and Clitheroe. So leave the car behind when exploring, and enjoy your contribution to greener travel, as well as the opportunity of an afternoon tipple.
The quintessential village of Whalley, bursting with independent bars and restaurants, quirky cafes and boutique shops is accessed in just four minutes by scenic rail journey. Whalley also has the ruins of 14th Century Whalley Abbey, which will impress avid historians or those simply looking for a beauty spot to enjoy a picnic. The bustling market town of Clitheroe is only six minutes beyond that, and is great for a trip to the castle, or browsing the many independent shops. Here you’ll also find Holmes Mill, home to the impressive Bowland Food Hall, Bowland Brewery, a bar amd grill and even an ice cream parlour. For rainy days, it has the Everyman Cinema, an experience to remember, as well as their Boiler House (duck-pin) Bowling. Something quite different to your average bowling alley.
The area is full of beautiful traditional pubs serving fresh local produce, and you are never far away from an award-winning gastro pub, but Ribble Valley Retreat is only an eight minute walk to Michelin Star, Northcote. With all this choice, is it any wonder the Ribble Valley has been named ‘the food capital of the north’?
Ribble Valley Retreat is also a perfect base to explore historical places of interest; walking and cycling trails; family farm parks and other attractions. But don’t be overwhelmed. You can make the most of your stay using the complimentary concierge service, which includes advice and recommendations tailored to your party. Or just sit and relax with your loved ones and let the views do the talking.
To enhance the experience don’t forget to take advantage of fire pit kits that include marshmallows for toasting, or breakfast in bed with a continental basket delivery (at the time of your choice). The nibbles boxes are a real treat should you wish to sample local cheeses, and the BBQ meat packs will guarantee the tastiest barbeque. All locally sourced of course.
However you choose to spend your time, Ribble Valley Retreat provide something very special, with a customer service that is designed to deliver an unforgettable experience in the Ribble Valley.

Located just off the A59 in the beautiful Ribble Valley, near to Clitheroe. The car park is accessed on Whinney Lane, directly opposite the Indian restaurant. The postcode for sat-navs is BB6 8DQ.
There’s a train to Langho from Manchester. Once you arrive at Langho railway station it’s just a short walk over the road to the retreat. Buses run around the majority of the surrounding towns and villages. The closest stop is 'Langho by Railway Station'. Just ask the bus driver to give you a nudge when that stop comes up. Step off the bus and it's right across the road.
