826 reviewsTewitfield Marina is a purpose built hamlet of self-catering holiday accommodation situated alongside the Lancaster canal on the Lancashire and Cumbria border.
The marina boasts easy access to some of Britain’s best loved countryside with UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales being less than half an hour drive away. Also, close by is the historic city of Lancaster with its castles, museums and parks, plus the seaside town of Morecambe, famous for its breathtaking sunsets stretching across the bay and over the Lakeland fells.
Tewitfield’s location makes it ideal for those who wish to take a more active holiday, with the nearby national parks offering a host of walking opportunities, adventure experiences, visitor attractions, and water sports. Within the immediate vicinity there is a welcoming country pub and restaurant called the Longlands Hotel, serving homemade food and Greenlands Farm Village with its own crafts, bakery and butchers shop as well as a cafe where you can sample the local produce.
Accommodation comprises of a selection of one, two, three, and four bedroom apartments, many of which are dog friendly. All units are built, furnished and equipped to the highest standard, are full of character and offer you a comfortable stay. Each contain a flat screen TV with integrated Freeview and DVD plus a TV in every bedroom, luxurious solid oak furniture, a fully equipped kitchen and a relaxing seating area. Each unit also has its own private patio/balcony and car parking space. Please note that all accommodation is non-smoking and overlooks the unfenced marina and canal.

We are very easy to get to, based less than a mile from Junction 35 of the M6. Just follow the signs from the motorway for Carnforth & Kendal. At the roundabout take the second exit (A6) to Milnthorpe. At the next roundabout take the second exit (A6070) to Burton in Kendal. Take the first right after about ¼ mile and follow the road in front of the Longlands Hotel. The entrance to Tewitfield Marina is on your left. For Sat Nav purposes please use postcode: LA6 1GP then turn into the Longlands Hotel. Carnforth is just 3 miles away, Kendal 14 miles and Windermere 19 miles
The closest railway station is Carnforth. The 555 bus route from Lancaster to Carlisle, passing through Windermere, Ambleside, Grasmere and Keswick stops outside the Longlands Hotel.
