This historic 18th Century country house provides a perfect romantic retreat for your wedding, with an elegant ballroom, verdant gardens and terrace overlooking the lawn and countryside beyond.

Set in eight romantic acres of lush green fields, Lancashire’s Wedding Venue of the Year for nine consecutive years - West Tower - is one of the most picturesque places to say ‘I do.’

West Tower dates back to 1785, having been commissioned by Liverpool shipping magnate Lord Alfred Holt. The tower located on the west part of the house allowed Holt’s staff to locate ships arriving to Formby Point from North America and India. 

Today, the venue exudes a sense of history and opulence with the rooms cleverly blending the old with the new to stunning effect. 

Weddings are tailored specifically to you to ensure you enjoy an array of choice and flexibility to create your dream day.  The rooms are designed to accommodate up to 140 guests for wedding breakfast and 250 for evening parties.

Their wedding co-ordinators are passionate about delivering a wonderful and unique experience to make your dreams come true. The team will be by your side throughout the planning process through to your wedding to ensure you have a truly memorable day.

The bridal suite is exquisite and centres on a large four-poster bed.  The individual styling complements the original features to deliver indulgence at its best.  The en-suite bathroom is spacious with double shower and a large roll-top bath in the middle of the floor.  It is the ideal setting for the happy couple to spend their first night together. 

In addition to the honeymoon suite, there are 18 luxurious double bedrooms for your guests to stay and enjoy. ​​​​The rooms are individually styled to be in keeping with the country house’s original features.

With exceptional cuisine, attentive service and a stunning setting, West Tower promises to create a magical wedding day. A vast selection of menus are available to choose from for your wedding breakfast and their Chef is happy to adapt any dish to suit your personal taste.
