150 Years of Sound and Splendour

Experience a vibrant journey through 150 years of magnificent music with Orchestra dell'Arte, live at The Atkinson.  This beautiful concept goes hand in hand with 150 years of The Atkinson art gallery and Cambridge Hall right in the heart of Southport's Lord Street.

The programme centres on the radiant Piano Concerto No. 2 by Saint-Saëns, performed by the brilliant soloist Tom Kimmance.  This special matinée also features the charming waltzes of Dvořák, the dazzling ballet music of Glazunov, and the lush, lyrical Serenade by Richard Strauss.  And if the applause is generous, there just might be a surprise encore.

All of this will be performed in the beautiful theatre space, an atmospheric and historic concert setting that adds its own magic to the music.
