Sparring Songwriters brings together acclaimed and award-winning Canadian songwriters John Wort Hannam and Chris Ronald for a highly entertaining song smackdown. Actually, John was born in Jersey and Chris in Lancashire, but they've built successful music careers over their many years living in Western Canada. Both have been recognized by the Canadian Folk Music Awards, with John winning two for his latest album Long Haul.
John with his narrative, lyrically-driven roots style and Chris with his 'poetic lyrics and buttery fusion of Roots and Americana' go head-to-head trying to outdo each other. Accompanying them will be multi-instrumentalist (and referee) Ryland Moranz, a talented songwriter in his own right.
Who will emerge victorious from the ultimate folk-off? That's for the audience to decide.
Running time: two hours. Age guidance: all ages.
