A celebration of culture in the heart of Preston.
The Windrush Festival, hosted by the Windrush Initiatives, has been taking place in Preston for the past 10 years.
Windrush 76 Festival is an event that marks the arrival of the first 492 passengers of Empire Windrush that left Jamaica on May 24 1948 and arrived at Tilbury, Essex on June 22, 1948.
Caribbean food, singers and dancers provide the entertainment during the festival, ready to perform for your enjoyment.
Each year, the festival is held to encourage more people to learn about and remember the Windrush generation and they hope to continue this tradition to keep their memory alive for the younger generations.
