Witches, Dark Arts and Demonology Lunchtime Lecture

Back by popular demand.

The terrible trials of witches in Lancaster in 1612 took part against a widespread fear of witchcraft.  Popular speaker Dr Colin Penny is back to ask, why was there a moral panic about witches and what were the horrors of the supernatural?  Now you can find out about King James I, his obsession with witchcraft, his book Demonology and the social turmoil of the 1600s which created such terror.  Not to be missed, if you are brave enough.

To mark 400 years of Judges Lodgings.
