Showtown is Blackpool’s new museum of fun and entertainment. Although the museum isn’t open yet, the team have some exciting events planned throughout the Summer, full of fun and entertainment for everyone!

JULY 2023

CREATE: Clown egg workshop

LOCATION: Showtown Activity Hub

We are so egg-cited for the first family event of the summer holidays!

Get creative and join Showtown as we paint wooden eggs together. Making cheerful, circus inspired clown characters for you to take away.

AUGUST 2023

CREATE: Love Parks Week

LOCATION: Stanley Park

TIME:  2pm – 4pm

COST: Free

Join Showtown down at Stanley Park as we celebrate ‘Love Parks Week’ with family fun activities.  Have a go at building your very own iconic Blackpool Tower - We’ll provide the materials and a bit of moral support and you can do the rest!

HERITAGE TOUR: Promenade History Walk*

LOCATION: Wilton Parade tram shelter opposite The Imperial Hotel, Promenade, FY1 2HB

DATE: Tue 8 August, 2023

TIME: 6pm – 7.30pm

COST: £8 (resident concession £6)

Discover the fascinating heritage of the North Promenade during this heritage tour while enjoying the stunning sea views! The walk concludes on the Comedy Carpet at the foot of the spectacular Blackpool Tower.

TALK: Women in the Water – 160 years of swimming

LOCATION: The Joe Longthorne MBE Museum, North Pier, Blackpool

DATE: Sat 19 August, 2023

TIME:  1pm doors.  Talk 1.30pm – 2.30pm

COST: Free

Join Showtown for a talk by writer, Jenny Landreth, as she reflects on her book Swell. Looking at the challenges and inequality women have faced in the water, Jenny looks at swimming and its role in women’s history and in Blackpool.

CREATE:  Puppet fun workshop – 75 years of Sooty!
