A ROAR-some Day Returns To Lancaster!
Here it is, the moment that all you dinosaur lovers (and those of you with 5 year olds) have been waiting for- Dino-Day returns to Lancaster city centre for round three.
Lancaster Business Improvement District (BID) are proud to announce that Rex the T-Rex is back, and this time…. He's bringing his friends, and he has plenty of them! Due to the enoROARmous demand Dino-Day will return to Lancaster city centre on Friday 31st May, from 11am – 4pm for a DINOmite day of fun for the entire family.
The event, which celebrates Lancaster's Sir Richard Owen, the man who coined the word dinosaur, has become one of the most popular events in Lancaster City Centre. The event reliably attracts visitors from across the Bay and beyond, including visitors from Kendal, Leyland, Cumbria, Blackpool, Windermere and Manchester.
The star of the event is, and has always been Rex, the life-like T-Rex. Standing at over 6ft tall and with 50 piercing teeth, you won't be able to miss this 'king of the tyrant lizards'. But this year, you won't just be able to see Rex, you can also catch a glimpse of Spike the Spinosaurus, Percy the Parasaurolophus and new for 2019 Richie the Raptor. Rex, Spike, Percy and Reggie will this year be joined by the UK's largest walking dinosaur 'Little Al' the Allosaurus. At 4.8M long, it will be hard to miss Little Al, as he makes his first appearance in the District!
The BIG dinosaurs will be joined by lots of little dinosaurs, with baby dinosaurs and baby egg hatching shows throughout the day. Those that want more of a hands-on experience with the baby dinosaurs will be able to take part in the Dinosaur Ranger School, where your little ones will learn how to look after the dinosaurs, as well as meeting six gorgeous baby dinosaurs, and earning a certificate for their dino-tastic efforts!
There will also be lots of Dino-activities to join in with Dino-Digg, Dino-Trails, Dino-raffle, fairground rides, face painting and a large selection of Dino-fossils and replicas! There will also be Dino-crafts and activities in Lancaster Museum, Maritime Museum and Marketgate Shopping Centre.
