Experience the magic of Christmas with a relaxed pantomime performance.
Join a special relaxed performance of the Christmas pantomime, perfect for adults and children with additional needs, along with their families, carers, or support workers. The relaxed performance ensures a welcoming and supportive environment where everyone can enjoy the magic of the theatre.
About the show:
In the bustling town of London, where dreams and reality intertwine, we meet Dick Whittington, a young man yearning for success amidst tales of golden pavements. His journey is fraught with challenges and adversities, orchestrated by the cunning King Rat.
Guided by a whimsical Fairy, Dick and his feline companion embark on a nautical adventure, braving comical chaos and a fierce storm that lands them on an island ruled by a Sultan. Uncovering King Rat's deceit, Dick and his cat rid the island of rats, earning the Sultan's wealth and his daughter's hand in marriage.
Returning to England as a wealthy Lord Mayor, Dick proposes to Alice, and under the Good Fairy's magic, King Rat transforms into a friendly companion, concluding Dick Whittington's journey with success, love, and resilience.

Why the audience loves it:
'Truly fantastic relaxed performance at the Grand tonight. We had such a great time and are so thankful for the opportunity to see a panto where additional needs are not just accommodated, but welcomed.'
'First time I've been to a relaxed performance, and I felt more relaxed myself, never mind my children. It was wonderful to feel accepted and not judged. My children loved it!'
'I had a great time. All the staff and cast were so understanding and friendly. It was a wonderful experience.'
'Honestly, it was absolutely fabulous! We were talking about how we wouldn't be able to take our additional needs kids to a panto without events like this. They were free to be themselves, and no one batted an eyelid. The dancers were amazing too! I can't wait for the next one and would love to see more relaxed performances throughout the year. Much thanks and gratitude to all the staff, volunteers, and performers.'
Don't miss this Christmas treat. Enjoy a festive performance filled with adventure, laughter, and heartwarming moments in a truly inclusive environment.
