Originally the site of the old Toll House at the gateway to the city, the imposing Victorian listed building has a wealth of architectural features inside- all of which have been retained.
Guest rooms are contemporary and stylish - with high ceilings and many original features - there's even a listed wardrobe in one of the rooms. With air-conditioning, colour TV, tea & coffee trays and comfy beds you'll find all you need whether travelling on business or pleasure.
Open all day from early till late - serving light snacks, a range of coffee from local supplier Atkinsons, Thwaites traditional cask ales and probably the largest selection of quality wines by the glass in the city. The restaurant space is light and homely with lots of different areas to dine and chat away.
Food is sourced locally wherever possible, and Chef Andrew Nixon works with suppliers to showcase the best of each season on the menus. Choose from inspired meals with a creative twist or homely favourites. There's free Wi-Fi throughout the ground floor and in guest rooms too.
