Located in the heart of West Lancashire, the historic market town of Ormskirk is steeped in character and history, offering the perfect spot for a short break.
Enjoy a wide range of independent retailers, restaurants, cafes and pubs as well as the renowned markets that have been around since 1286, providing a selection of fresh local produce, clothing, flowers and handmade gifts. Great for finding that unique gift or holiday memento.
Strange things happen around Halloween in Ormskirk’s Coronation Park. Ghosts and Ghouls dance in the bandstand, witches ‘cauldrons bubble menacingly in the meadows and creepy crawly creatures lurk in the shadows of the woodlands. Enjoy an evening of fright, mystery and scary stories at the free Halloween Extravaganza event – Wednesday 31st October, 6-9pm.
Ormskirk has been renowned for its Gingerbread for several centuries, originally made in homes and sold by hand to passing clientele in the town. Enjoy this freshly baked delight at the very first Ormskirk Gingerbread Christmas Market as well as browsing other gift stalls and a live ice carving demo!
The Market will be followed by Ormskirk’s Christmas Light Switch On, which is set to be the best yet after Ormskirk won this year’s national Blachere Illumination’s Christmas Lights Competition. The event takes place Sunday 25th November, 12-6pm.
