Visitors to the popular Fairhaven Lake can now experience a golfing journey around the Fylde thanks to a brand new attraction as a result of continued investment into the popular parkland.
Opening on September 25th, this new attraction will be open all year round, weather permitting and will offer visitors eighteen exciting holes some of which feature Fylde’s iconic heritage landmarks such as Lytham Hall, Singleton Fire Station and St Annes Pier plus holes designed on those at nearby Royal Lytham & St Annes and St Annes Old Links golf courses. As you venture around the course you will be able to read about the heritage features and you will be accompanied by bird song from waders that can be found in the adjacent Ribble Estuary,
This project is specifically funded by Fylde Council as part of efforts to improve facilities in the popular parkland and is sure to be a real hit with families has been designed by leading industry experts Greenspan. In addition to this there is also the National Lottery Heritage Fund multi million pound project which is supporting the wider rejuvenation of the lake, buildings and parkland area, which has already this year seen a popular new adventure playground installed
Project officer for Fylde Council, Charlie Richards said “It’s tremendous to see the delivery of the first phase of our vision for the restoration of the lake. I would like to extend our gratitude to Greenspan projects for delivering a fantastic facility. The workmanship on the course is excellent and we would highly recommend their services”.
Councillor Little, Chair of Fylde Council’s Tourism and Leisure Committee said “I am really delighted to see this contemporary unique facility at Fairhaven Lake - this project has been something so close to my heart. I have been looking forward to the seeing investment in the facilities at the Lake and know well how this new golf attraction will be welcomed and appreciated by residents and visitors. It is a credit to everyone involved and the support from the community has been overwhelming”
