Ready… set… go! The annual duck race is returning to WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre on 1 May.
Looking for something different to do this bank holiday Monday? Families are invited to the Lancashire race of the year. Entrants will enter their personalised rubber ducks customised in the craft room and compete to win the number one spot.
There will be three races on the day at 12pm, 2pm, and 4pm for a chance to win a LEGO® kit and a cuddly flamingo toy. Families are invited to head to the craft room on the weekend prior to the race and it will also open from 10am on the day of the races for those that haven’t had the chance to colour in a rubber duck.
Victoria Fellowes, Visitor Experience Manager at WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre said: “We are delighted that the duck race is taking place at Martin Mere once again this year, last year was an incredible event for the centre and we hope that this year will be even better.”
She added: “Our last race saw around 500 ducks taking part with a great variety of colours and designs on show. We can’t wait to see who will be the winners this year!”.
As well as the duck race, visitors can discover underwater creatures during the pond dipping sessions from 1:30 - 3pm, or head to the award-winning canoe safari for an adventure around the wetlands. Find out more about events and activities via the Martin Mere website.
