St Annes Kite Festival
The 2023 St Anne’s Kite Festival returns this weekend. The skies above St Anne’s seafront will be awash with colour on Friday evening, Saturday and Sunday as fabulous display kites take to the air on the beach adjacent to the pier.
There is a planned illuminated kite flying evening on Friday 8th September. There will be a fairground on the beach, a stage for music and entertainment and additional stalls on the Promenade, so if you’re looking for refreshments you are very much encouraged to visit the town centre as well or bring your own picnic.
Fylde Coast Food and drink festival 2023
A fantastic, food-filled day out with delicious local food and drinks for all the family to enjoy! This year’s event will showcase the finest food and drink from our region and with free entry, free parking and free entertainment and family activities, it’s the perfect event for all food lovers and anyone who wants to enjoy a glorious day of indulgence by the seaside!
Blackpool Illuminations
The world-famous Illuminations are back and they need little introduction. With six miles of traditional festoons, tableaux and interactive features along the Promenade, no wonder it’s commonly known as the greatest free light show on Earth! Blackpool’s annual Illuminations display will once again be extended by two months, shining nightly from September 1, 2023 to January 1, 2024.
Confessional Festival 2023
Confessional festival returns to Blackburn, transforming the historic Blackburn cinema into a music and arts urban junkyard extravaganza! The theme for this year's event is Urban Junkyard, the juxtaposition of which against the venue's historical charm creates an atmosphere that is sure to be both mesmerising and unforgettable.
Darwen Artisan Market
Immerse yourself in the charm of this lively town and experience a delightful event that celebrates local creativity and craftsmanship. The spirit of the market comes alive with live music from skilled musicians and DJs spinning vinyl records, creating an electric atmosphere that will keep you entertained throughout your visit. Discos for Grown Ups
After the amazing sold out disco in April, Lowther Pavilion are bringing the legendary Discos for Grown ups back on Saturday 9th September. Get glittered up for a feel good, fun and fabulous night of dancing with people your own age to the best ever 70s soul and disco, 80s pop and 90s dance anthems.
Heritage Open Days
Heritage Open Days is England’s largest festival of history and culture, bringing together over 2,500 organisations, 5,000 events and 40,000 volunteers. Each year, thousands of volunteers across the country invite you to experience local history, architecture and culture. It’s your chance to see hidden places, try out new experiences and even better it’s for FREE!
Nelson Food & Drink festival 2023
The 2023 Nelson Food and Drink Festival will return in style this Saturday with a number of fantastic free attractions including live cooking demonstrations, entertainment for all the family and an extra special competition for local school children.
Rossendale 60s Festival
The Whitaker are proud to be part of the famous Rossendale 60s Festival for 2023. Join in as they celebrate all things swinging 60s with a 60s themed museum display and music in the Old Stables event space.
