Litfest’s 2023 Autumn weekend
Litfest’s 2023 Autumn weekend is back this weekend, bringing a celebration of poetry and its ability to challenge and inspire. The themes will include the experience of refuge and migration and will revisit the ongoing international slave trade project. All the events are free/ pay what you can, and you can come along to one of the welcoming venues in Lancaster or livestream from your own sofa.
Artwalk Clitheroe
Artwalk Clitheroe highlights the hub of galleries based within the market town of Clitheroe. Ribble Valley is home to some extraordinary artistic talent which is showcased in Clitheroe’s many galleries.
Blackpool Illuminations
The world-famous illuminations need little introduction and they are back lighting up Blackpool promenade for a extended season. Shining nightly from September 1st to January 1st.
British Textile Biennial
British Textile Biennial has returned with new artist commissions, exhibitions and performances present against the backdrop of the impressive infrastructure of the cotton industry in Pennine Lancashire.

Dawn Flights at WWT Martin Mere
