Last night six of Lancashire’s Gastropubs were awarded spots on the Estrella Damm Top 50 Gastropubs in the UK, with two of them landing in the top ten best pubs!
The list, voted for by industry experts and food critics, celebrates the very best of the UK’s drinking and dining establishments for the fifteenth year.

The Parkers Arms (7)
Reaching the seventh spot is the Parkers Arms Clitheroe, a historical rural inn in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The Parkers Arms prides itself in serving excellent award-winning modern British classics using the finest regional produce.
Freemasons at Wiswell (9)
Appearing on the list for several years, this pub once again appeared in the top ten. A popular Lancashire venue set in the beautiful Ribble Valley, Freemasons at Wiswell offers a true gastronomic experience in a stylish yet homely pub setting with a commitment to excellence in every aspect of operation.
The White Swan at Fence (29)
The White Swan at Fence really is a pub like no other, the small lively local pub serves great food, great wine and Timothy Taylors award winning real ales. Nestled in the Pendle countryside, this Michelin-starred restaurant is a very special place, serving some of the very best food. Each meal is prepared from locally sourced produce and has been crowned as serving some of the best food in the region thanks to the staff in front house and in the kitchen.
The Cartford Inn (74)
At the heart of Lancashire’s Fylde countryside, the riverside location of The Cartford Inn boasts spectacular views of the peaceful riverscape and the dramatic Bowland fells beyond. Once a coaching inn at the historic crossing of the River Wyre, the 17th century inn is now a multi award-winning gastropub and hotel with 15 luxury bedrooms. Inside, enjoy some of the region’s best food and drink in one of the uniquely styled dining areas. The Cartford Inn is noted for its individuality and contemporary rural-chic style.
The Coach and Horses (88)
Based in the beautiful Bolton-by-Bowland in the heart of the Ribble Valley, The Coach & Horses is a traditional coaching inn, offering seven unique bedrooms, all individually decorated in a style befitting this historic building. In addition to its bedrooms, the Coach is also a 2 AA rosette pub, which serves a range of menus, from it’s a la carte menu, to a tasting menu, Sunday Lunch menu and 4 course Midweek Menu.
The Three Fishes (98)
The Three Fishes has been beautifully restored, sympathetically and sustainably. It is also the heart of a very special farm-to-fork project by Nigel Haworth. Dishes range from contemporary to classic British, showcasing the exceptional ingredients of Lancashire and the best of global cookery. The aim is to deliver truly exceptional dishes, with zero waste a top priority. The menu changes with the seasons as food inevitably should, there will be no strawberries in winter and no game in spring, just great seasonal food.
