Excitement is mounting, and social media channels are buzzing with plans to make a splash at Baylight '24.
Morecambe Sparkle CIC as part of Baylight '24 are pleased to have partnered with West End Morecambe (Big Local) to install festoon lighting along Regent Road in the West End. Visitors are encouraged to head to Morecambe Promenade to witness the extended spectacular Light Art show featuring 21 installations and experiences. There promises to be something for all ages, including;
A giant marine creature taking over the exterior of Morecambe Winter Gardens.
Inside the Winter Gardens, visitors will have the opportunity to see oyster catchers and seagulls, among others, flying around the ceiling through animations accompanied by a brand new soundtrack created by More Music and young people from the West End.
A giant dancing octopus in the parade on Friday evening – 6pm -7pm
Winners of a children's drawing competition projected onto The Queens Hotel.
A first time seen original sculpture of a winged mermaid designed by local artist Shane Johnsone & Sandylands Primary School.
To help sustain this extraordinary fusion of art and architecture in the years to come, visitors are being invited to show their support through donations via the Baylight website (https://baylightmorecambe.co.uk/donate-baylight/) or by making payments through phone on the evening of the event. Contributions will help ensure the success of the Baylight festival and enable it to continue providing captivating experiences to the community for years to come.
With FREE entry for the public from 6pm to 10pm over all three nights, the Baylight '24 festival warmly welcomes everyone to witness this enchanting display.
