WWT Martin Mere Wetland Centre, Burscough, Lancashire, has introduced a new low-cost entry, as part of its aim to make the centre more accessible and allow people of all ages and incomes to enjoy a great day out, connect with nature and discover the superpowers of wetlands.

The new ticket allows anyone who is in receipt of Universal Credit, Working Tax Credit, Child Tax Credit, Employment and Support Allowance Income Support, Jobseeker’s Allowance or Pension Credit to pre-book tickets online at wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/martin-mere, at the reduced price of £5 per adult or £3 per child (under 4s go free).

Nick Brooks, General Manager at Martin Mere Wetland Centre, commented: “Martin Mere Wetland Centre exists to fulfil founder Peter Scott’s vision of connecting people with wetland nature and, as a charity, we are doing what we can do to support that by making entry as accessible as we can for everyone.

“We know what a great thing it can be to enjoy a day out in nature and discover the wonderful variety of species that call our wetlands home such as flamingos and otters. We sincerely hope lots of people take advantage of this offer and spread the word about our reduced-price tickets.”

Over the summer, the centre is hosting a range of events and activities for families to get out in nature. From GIANT LEGO® Brick Animals, to weapons training in their Viking Village, there is something for everyone.

Tickets are available for up to a maximum of six people living at the same address, including no more than three adults in the party. Must be booked in advance. Visit https://www.wwt.org.uk/wetland-centres/martin-mere/plan-your-visit/tickets/universal-credit-tickets/ for full terms and conditions.
