The Bard meets the best of outdoor theatre in an exciting performance of Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’, by Folksy Theatre company.

Set in the stunning surroundings of Brockholes Nature Reserve, Preston, expect live music and audience participation in a classic Shakespearean tale of love, comedy, betrayal and death.

The plot of ‘As You Like It’ is what we all love and expect from Shakespeare’s timeless tales. Rosalind is the daughter of a banished duke and falls in love with Orlando. When Rosalind is also banished from the court by her uncle, she takes on the appearance of a boy named Ganymede.

She travels to the Forest of Arden, along with her cousin Celia and the jester Touchstone, to where her father and his friends live in exile.

Rosalind meets Orlando again in the forest and devises an elaborate scheme to find out the sincerity of his supposed passion for her. To further capture his heart, she uses the witty and mischievous façade of ‘Ganymede’.
