A tantalising trio of exclusive Gala Dinners will be held on the famous Grand stage from Thursday 12 September to Saturday 14 September to commemorate the theatre’s 130th anniversary, hosted by top theatrical names JODIE PRENGER, STEVE ROYLE and BASIL NEWBY MBE.

Celebrate 130 years of the glorious Grand Theatre with three delightful Dinners on The Grand Stage surrounded by the opulent beauty of Frank Matcham’s masterpiece in an unforgettable evening of elegance and entertainment. Each extraordinary evening will be hosted by a very special celebrity guest who will share personal anecdotes, fascinating behind-the-scenes showbiz stories and reveal their deep connection to the theatre.

Thursday 12 September - Be captivated by sensational stand-up star, Britain’s Got Talent finalist and Grand Theatre favourite Steve Royle, as he shares hilarious and heartwarming tales from over twenty years of performing in the theatre’s fabulous, fun-packed Pantomime. There may also be some juggling! Steve is also Patron of Friends of The Grand and delights his many fans across the world with his stand-up comedy capers.

 Friday 13 September – Sparkling local personality and LGBT+ legend Basil Newby MBE will join The Grand’s 130th celebrations to discuss his heartfelt commitment to the theatre as a long serving ambassador, fundraiser and friend, along with the many amazing artists he has helped showcase and pioneer. Basil will also discuss his influential role in Blackpool’s vibrant LGBT+ community as the founder and owner of the world famous Funny Girls.

 Saturday 14 September – Scintillating star of stage and screen Jodie Prenger will tell thrilling tales from throughout her illustrious career in the West End and her memorable performances right here at the Grand, including the iconic comedy Abigail’s Party and the recent smash-hit solo show Shirley Valentine. There may also be a few backstage secrets from the famous cobbles of Coronations Street! Jodie shot to fame as the winner of BBC’s I’d Do Anything and has gone on to star in countless top stage productions and TV shows.

Arrival each evening is at 6pm for a glamorous prosecco reception in the beautiful Dress Circle Bar. Guests will then be escorted onto the stage to enjoy a sumptuous three-course dinner, crafted by the esteemed Ribble Catering Company using the finest locally sourced produce. Blackpool Grand Theatre was meticulously crafted in 1894 by flamboyant architect Frank Matcham and has been entertaining theatre audiences ever since with a whole host of exhilarating artforms on offer to all. Proceeds from the Dinners on The Grand Stage and Afternoon Tea series will directly support The Grand’s vital work with children, young people and families across the whole of the community.
