A full day of festive fun in Chorley town centre is in store on Sunday 17 November for the Christmas Lights Switch On and Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market.

Shane Lynch of Boyzone and Chorley FC will be doing the honours of switching the Christmas lights on at 5pm, following an amazing afternoon of entertainment on the Market Street stage from 1pm, hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Graham Liver.

Here’s the festive line-up:

  • 10am - 6pm – Totally Locally Chorley Christmas Market will be in the town centre with independent traders, children’s rides and an opportunity to meet Santa.
  • 10am – 3pm - Some stalls on Chorley’s covered market will be open, with the 1498 food and drink area open until 6pm.
  • From 1pm there’ll be entertainment on the Market Street stage hosted by BBC Radio Lancashire’s Graham Liver. Performers include artists from Inspire Youth Zone, Red Rosettes Show Chorus, DLN Dance, James B Partridge, local singer - Lauren Wood, Young Elton – Elton John Tribute.
  • 4.45pm – special guests will be talking to Graham Liver ahead of the big switch on.
  • 5:00pm - Christmas Lights Switch On with Shane Lynch, accompanied on stage by players and representatives from Chorley FC to join in the festivities.

There is plentiful parking in Chorley town centre, with many car parks free on a Sunday (with the exception of the Flat Iron car park). See chorley.gov.uk/carparks.

Market Street will be closed from 6:00am - 10:00pm on Sunday 17 November at the junction from High Street down to the junction with St George's Street. High Street will be closed from the junction at Cleveland Street to the Junction at New Market Street. Please do not park in these areas overnight on Saturday 16 November.
