It wouldn’t be the Christmas holidays without an unforgettable trip to this year’s fabulous, family pantomime at The Grand. This captivating tale of magic, mayhem and misunderstandings stars TV sensation Hayley Tamaddon (Dancing on Ice, Emmerdale) and stand-up comedy star Steve Royle and is a laugh-a-minute extravaganza with stunning sets, top musical hits, amazing costumes and exciting special effects to keep audiences both young and old entertained. Cinderella would love to go to the ball, but the Ugly Sisters have other ideas and wickedly tear up her invitation. Theatre Heritage Tour Backstage Secrets – Friday 10 January at 10.30am

Take an in-depth look at the dazzling delights of this much-loved local treasure and Frank Matcham’s masterpiece. Discover the backstage workings of the theatre including the Stalls, Dress Circle, Walkway, Royal Box, Stage Door, Fly Floor, Gallery, Dressing Rooms, Matcham Court and, of course, the Stage. Revel in the stunning scenery in the theatre’s spectacular auditorium and more, then relax and discuss your intriguing findings over delicious cake and tea in our magnificent Dress Circle bar following the 90-minute tour. Discover the breathtaking beauty and fascinating history of Blackpool Grand Theatre on our special Step-Free tour designed for visitors with accessible needs. During this fully accessible 45 minute tour, you’ll explore the magnificent foyer, stage, stage door and main auditorium - with the addition of new areas such as the Studio and our recently renovated dressing rooms, all while experiencing the opulence of Frank Matcham’s architectural masterpiece and gaining insights into the theatre’s vibrant past, from its opening in 1894 to the present day. I’m Frank Morgan – Rewired: A Tale from Paradise Heights - Saturday 11 January at 7.30pm in The STUDIO

Another exciting instalment from the popular Paradise Heights series from writer/director Joe O’Byrne. Frank’s a hard man in a dirty old town.  Loan shark, poker player, owner of The Ace of Spades in Paradise Heights.  But a new threat has risen, an immigrant crime wave has threatened his position at the top of the hill. Frank’s never been one to walk away from a fight but tonight he’s walled up inside his club, and you are trapped in there with him as the ghosts and the demons are queuing up to take him down. Odile, the temptress in a black tutu seduces the Prince by spinning with captivating precision and perfectly mirrors the spellbound purity of the swan queen, Odette as she flutters with emotional intensity.

The Nutcracker – Wednesday 15 January at 2.30pm & 7.30pm

This most famous of fantasy ballets begins as night falls on a snowy Christmas Eve and the open fire sends flickering shadows across the boughs of the Christmas tree and the presents beneath. When midnight strikes, we are swept away to a fairy-tale world where nothing is quite as it seems. Toy dolls spring to life, the Mouse-king and his mouse-army battle with the Nutcracker Prince and we travel through the Land of Snow to an enchanted place where the magic really begins... The George Michael Legacy – Thursday 16 January at 7.30pm

The newly crowned Strictly Come Dancing champion will dance into The Grand with a masterclass in comedy that has literally been ‘Yonks’ in the making! The stand up superstar is a TV favourite with hilarious appearances on Scared of the Dark, Would I Lie to You, Have I Got News for You, The Royal Variety, QI, Blankety Blank, The Last Leg and many more, and he is thrilled to be back on the road with his latest live tour. Some Guys Have All The Luck – The Rod Stewart Story - Sunday 19 January at 7.30pm

Robin Hood – Blackpool and Fylde Children’s Pantomime – Friday 14 January to Sunday 26 January at 2pm & 7pm

Blackpool & Fylde Children’s Pantomime is back with a production full of bellyaching gags, incredible high-energy routines and over 150 talented children in celebration of the company’s 115^th year! Get your passports ready as over 100 young people and adult volunteers from Blackpool Scouts & Guides take you on an entertaining journey of variety around the world through music, comedy and dance.  From the ice-cold temperatures of Antarctica to the scorching Serengeti plain, a trip to the ballet (which might not go as planned!) and a road trip where you wish you had control of the radio! You’ll be transported to places you never even thought about right from your seat with hilarious comedy sketches, fantastic sing-along numbers and heart-warming solos. All tickets £16.
