Renowned for her compelling and emotionally resonant performances, Eddi Reader will perform in the Ashton Hall at Lancaster Town Hall on Saturday 5th April at 8pm.

Presented for this event by Morecambe’s More Music, the singer has firmly established herself as one of popular music's most captivating artists. Her ability to connect her personal experiences with those of her audience makes each performance uniquely memorable.

Eddi first gained widespread recognition as the lead singer of Fairground Attraction, famous for the number one single "Perfect" and the chart-topping album "First of a Million Kisses."

Transitioning to a solo career, she has consistently proved her versatility across various musical styles. Her 2003 album, "The Songs of Robert Burns," received particular acclaim for its timeless renditions of Scotland’s national bard's poems, and gained her an MBE for outstanding contributions to the Arts.

Transcending traditional genre boundaries, Eddi breathes life into both traditional and contemporary songs with her distinctive blend of true vocals and towering romanticism. With ten critically acclaimed solo albums, three BRIT awards, a number one single, and an MBE in tow, Eddi Reader remains a pivotal figure in contemporary British music.

In 2022, Eddi enjoyed one of her busiest touring years, playing sell-out shows during her '40 Years Live Tour' in addition to appearing as a special guest with Jools Holland’s Rhythm & Blues Orchestra on an extensive UK tour.

She will be supported by M G Boulter, a singer songwriter living on the Thames coast in Essex whose second full length album With Wolves the Lamb Will Lie was listed as one of the ‘Best Folk Albums of 2016’ by the Daily Telegraph, and who has collaborated with Blue Rose Code, Emily Portman’s Coracle Band and The Lucky Strikes.

This is a new venture for More Music, and the perfect time to celebrate Eddi’s remarkable musical career. Creative Producer Ben McCabe says, “It’s an exciting development for More Music to be presenting Eddi Reader in More Music’s first bit of programming at Lancaster Town Hall. It’s great to have a variety of characterful larger venues locally and we’ll keep finding and bringing outstanding artists like Eddi to Lancaster and Morecambe in the future.”
